From Disaster to Finished — One Licensed Contractor

When a pipe bursts and floods your finished basement, or a fire damages your kitchen and the rooms beyond, or a storm takes part of your roof and water soaks into your top floor — there are two phases of work that need to happen. First, mitigation: stop the active damage, extract water or secure openings, remove damaged materials, dry the structure. Second, reconstruction: replace the drywall, rebuild the framing, install new flooring, restore the finishes. The problem most homeowners encounter is that they have to find a separate general contractor for phase two. That handoff creates delays, billing gaps, and adjuster confusion. Green Clean is a Maryland Licensed Builder, which means we deploy two teams simultaneously from day one — one mitigating the active damage, one assessing structural damage and beginning reconstruction planning. By the time mitigation is complete, the reconstruction scope is already documented, approved by your insurer, and ready to begin. From your first call to your final walkthrough, you deal with one company. All work goes under one Xactimate estimate, billed directly to your insurer. You pay only your deductible.

Two Teams. Simultaneous Dispatch.

Team 1 stops the active damage and mitigates. Team 2 assesses structural damage and begins reconstruction planning — at the same time. No waiting for mitigation to finish before rebuild begins.

Types of Restoration & Reconstruction

Post-Water Damage Reconstruction

After water damage is mitigated and structural drying is complete, reconstruction begins. Depending on the extent of damage, this ranges from replacing sections of drywall and flooring to full gut rebuilds of finished basements and kitchens. Water-damaged materials must be completely replaced rather than dried in place — drywall saturated by water loses structural integrity and harbors mold regardless of surface appearance. We replace drywall, subfloor, hardwood and tile flooring, cabinetry, trim, and any structural framing that was compromised, using moisture-resistant materials where appropriate. See our water damage restoration page for the mitigation process that precedes this phase.

Post-Fire Rebuild

Fire damage reconstruction involves replacing burned and smoke-damaged structural elements — framing, sheathing, subfloor — as well as all interior finishes throughout the affected smoke zone. Depending on severity, this can range from a single room to a complete gut rebuild. As a licensed builder, we handle structural framing repairs, roof deck replacement, wall rebuild, mechanical system coordination, and all interior finishing. The reconstruction timeline begins during the mitigation phase, so there's no gap between cleanup completion and the first rebuild crew on site. See our fire damage restoration page for the full scope.

Storm Structural Repairs

Storm damage reconstruction covers the full range of structural components a severe weather event can affect — roof deck and structural framing from tree impacts, exterior wall sheathing and cladding from wind damage, window and door replacements, foundation repairs from flooding, and complete interior restoration from storm water intrusion. The licensed builder credential is specifically required for structural roof and wall repairs in Maryland — this work cannot be performed by a remediation-only contractor. We handle it all, coordinated under one insurance claim. See our storm damage restoration page for the emergency response phase.

Partial vs. Full Gut Reconstruction

Not every disaster requires a full gut rebuild. We scope every reconstruction to match what the damage actually requires — replacing only what's affected, not what's convenient. This matters for insurance claims: Xactimate-documented scope-matched reconstruction is what your adjuster approves. We don't over-specify and we don't under-specify. When damage is extensive and a full gut is warranted, we provide that. When targeted replacement of damaged materials is the right answer, that's what we do. Every scope is documented, reviewed with you, and pre-approved by your insurer before work begins.
